Dog In A Man Suit, the rock band from New Jersey, is dropping their new album Contact tomorrow. Though the band split up back in 2023, they came together for one more project. Contact sees the band working with producer Matt Weber (A Great Big Pile of Leaves, Armor for Sleep, Sweet Pill). Influenced by bands like Pixies and Dinosaur Jr., it’s an alt-rock album that touches on relationships.
The band was formed by vocalists/guitarists Billie Seeland and Anjali Nair, who started it as a long-distance project. Eventually, Seeland brought in his brother Chris Seeland. On Contact, the four-piece is complete with the addition of drummer Dula Peep.
“Generally, the album is about the complexities of social relationships and how they can go wrong or get messy, despite a genuine desire to connect,” says Nair. “Your friends evolve, your family evolves, you yourself are ever-evolving—which can be hard to accept sometimes.”
Contact is about growing pains, and the inevitable realization that things must change. On “Next Life,” Nair sings, “I can’t blame it on myself or blame anyone else.”
