VIAL- IDLE HANDS

Minneapolis trio VIAL’s new song “IDLE HANDS” is the perfect amalgamation of punk and grunge.  “‘IDLE HANDS’ is a plea for affection; Limerence bottled up in a 2 and a half minute punky blast,” says bandmember Taylor Kraemer. “Its desperate heartbeat is set to a driving rhythm, with a hook that grabs hold and doesn’t let go. I recorded the vocals for “IDLE HANDS” in the studio with a completely broken heart, and I think that rawness and desperation really comes through in the final product. I was really inspired by Courtney Love’s saccharine vocals, especially on tracks such as “Violet”. This song has been stuck in my head for months.” Listen now and get it stuck in yours!

Trophy Wife - So Hard

Brooklyn-based Trophy Wife tries to find a balance on “So Hard.” On the song, McKenzie Iazzetta shares, "’So Hard’ is about wishing things could be as simple as they are in your head, and the bargaining you’re willing to do to get what you want. Is all the compromise worth the crumb of the fantasy you’re left with?"

The Shadow Self - ENRAPTURED

Phoenix dark-alt act The Shadow Self has unveiled their new single “ENRAPTURED.” It’s a song about turning away from false ideologies. “I wanted to make something that felt alive in its contradictions,” the band shares. “‘ENRAPTURED’ breathes between fragility and fury, the way real emotions do. It’s less about control, more about surrender.”

Secret Cameras - Up Against The Wall

LLondon darkwave/post-punk band Secret Cameras has released their latest single “Up Against The Wall.” As we watch it all descend, the song plays out in the background, capturing our struggle between stasis and action. “We wanted the music to feel claustrophobic yet unstoppable, like running down an alley looking for an exit that doesn’t appear, knowing it’s your last chance to survive something terrible,” the band shares. “You look for that door, no matter what’s happening around you. The serrated rhythms and the tight, breathless chorus reflect that sense of being cornered but also the will to keep on’fightin, to endure.” Watch the Đorđe Živković directed video now.

sundayclub - Nuclear Fallout

Last week dream pop project sundayclub released their debut EP Bannatyne. On the focus track “Nuclear Fallout,” the duo explores getting caught in an insecurity loop. The Manitoba band, Courtney Carmichael and Nikki St.Pierre, formed as a way to express the feelings of growing into adulthood. Bannatyne is out now via Paper Bag Records.
