Brainwasher - Burning Cars (feat. Spaceface)
Oklahoma City experimental project Brainwasher dropped a video for their latest single “Burning Cars.” As the band explains, “A little while back, while we were on tour in Europe with The Flaming Lips, our label asked about a video for ‘Burning Cars.’ One day, when we were playing in Cologne, we found out the city was evacuating a 10-mile radius to defuse three undetonated WWII bombs—just a normal part of reality there. The next day I was walking around Berlin, seeing all these powerful monuments to the war, thinking about what it must’ve been like. We actually wrote the song during the George Floyd protests—it's about how the world tells us things are getting better, but it feels like we’re not learning anything. It all felt connected.” Brainwasher releases their debut album 39 Lightyears from Heaven, on October 24th, 2025 via Mothland.
Odonis Odonis - Hijacked
Today, Toronto electronic duo Odonis Odonis has announced their new self-titled album, after signing to Mountain Royal. As the band explains, the new record sees the band experimenting further with sound. “We just hit a wall with the industrial thing,” bandmember Constantin Tzenos explains. “We were like, ‘Okay, there's, like, a million bands—especially duos—that cropped up in the time that we started doing it.’ We went as far as we could with it, and I was just like, ‘I don't want to do this anymore.’” With AI, AutoTune and other digital tools infiltrating electronic music production, the band was determined to create something different. “If we can make an honest record and put as much of ourselves as we can into this thing, you can’t replace that with a machine.” Watch the video for their new single “Hijacked” now.
Senior Living - caught doing things ( i shouldn’t do )
When Albany, New York shoegaze band Senior Living started working on their latest single, it had a snowball effect. “‘caught doing things ( i shouldn’t do )’ is the song that woke me up,” says vocalist Zackery Geddies Jr. “Jordan sent me the riff one morning and it hit me right away — I knew we had to pivot lock in on this one for a sec and I’m glad we did. After years buried in album-making, it felt like new music was getting pushed further and further back. This track lit a fire under my ass and gave me the motivation I almost gave up on looking for. Once we had it sounding exactly how we wanted, we went all in on the visuals. We wanted the energy of the video to feel just as anxious and chaotic as the song — and we’re proud of how it all came out.” Watch the video, co-directed by Geddies Jr. and Maysen St Germain, above now!
Heaven For Real - Unltd. Time
Heaven For Real has shared another single from their upcoming album Who Died & Made You The Dream? The song “Unltd. Time,” captures what the band calls a “journey through three distinct eras.” As they explain, “I wanted the lyrics and vocal delivery throughout the song to represent each one with a mix of register and emotion - with a too late realization baked in. We fleshed out the recording in Victoria BC with Jen Yakamovich on drums and Olivia Scriven singing the 2nd vocal.” The album is out 11/7 on Mint Records.
Silk Daisys - someday
Atlanta dream pop band Silk Daisys gets romantically goth (or is it gothically romantic?) on their new single “someday.” As band member James Abercrombie explains, "This song’s all about loving someone so much, you couldn’t imagine going on living if they died. It’s a super happy song about, essentially, a suicide pact. Karla and I spend a lot of time thinking about our own mortality, riding our bikes in cemeteries, envisioning the mausoleum we’re going to build someday. Is that embarrassingly goth? When I wrote the chords, it always sounded like a pretty bike ride through a graveyard, so I figured that’s what the song should be about." The song is off the band’s upcoming debut LP, recorded with Damon Moon (Bathe Alone, Sleepers Club).
