moondaddy - Great Expansion
San Diego dreampop band moondaddy has announced their upcoming second album Dove Tapes. “When I thought of the title, I pictured a dove carrying an olive branch,” says vocalist Cara Potiker. “I'm committed to creating little microcosms of love, despite what's happening in the world. That's what art facilitates, and what we all need to keep doing.” Dove Tapes in out on Halloween and can be pre-ordered now.
male//gaze - Get Well
Heavy shoegzers male//gaze examines the effect of low self-confidence on their latest single “Get Well.” The song, the PNW band shares, is “about the complexities of an insecure youth and growing up without managing it. It’s about being so jealous, it destroys you…That it makes you sick. It’s about coming to the realization that maybe the person you’re villainizing means more to you than you want to admit. This song was inspired by the women in our lives, and more specifically, women in the sexwork industry (both real @rissa_ruins and fictional @anorafilm ) who have to deal with this kind of insecurity on a daily basis. This song is a love letter to them and a wish to get better and be better people overall.”
t@b grrrl - wetbangz
“I wrote ‘wetbangz’ at the end of summer 2023 after coming home from a post graduation trip around Europe” shares NYC riot grrrl band t@b grrrl on their latest single. “I had met so many people, nurtured existing friendships and learned some valuable lessons so ‘wetbangz’ feels kind of like a recap. The song is dedicated to my mom who waited ever so patiently for the release.” On October 9th, t@b grrrl brings their energetic live show to the Bowery Electric stage. Tickets are on sale now!
Fawn - Paper Thin
