5 Songs from The Faves

Another set of bangers this week. Listen to new music from shoegazers Glimmer and Young Lovers, indie rockers Lolabelle and Gollylagging and post-punks TVOD.

Find our Apple Music playlist ‘the faves’ below where you can check out our other latest picks.

Young Lovers - Modern Routine

Los Angeles shoegaze band Young Lovers are back with “Modern Routine,” which finds the band on a slow drift into sorrow. Their upcoming album The Circle’s End, out 6/26, becomes a highly anticipated release with each single. You can pre-order the vinyl now on cobalt blue via Anxiety Blanket Records.

Gollylagging - Jackknife

"'Jackknife' is about the aftermath of friendship fallouts,” says Gollylagging vocalist and guitarist Jake Regulbuto. “You can want the best for people but know your relationship to them can’t be the same as it used to be." The Boston indie rock band plays For the Record in NYC next week alongside Bounty and Carrying.

TVOD - Rerun

We are in a constant state of confusion, with the line between reality and absurdity blurring with each passing moment. TVOD’s upcoming album, The Farm, based on the writings of George Orwell, very much taps into that. In the animated video for the first single “Rerun,” watch what happens when a dog is fed up with waiting for their human and takes control of their own destiny.

Glimmer - Someday Sunshine

Glimmer has blessed us with their summer-ready hit “Someday Sunshine,” the first single since releasing last year’s Get Weak. “A dreamy, blissed out lament about the bittersweet yearning of star-crossed heartbreak,” the band writes. Glimmer plays a show in DC before hitting the EU and UK in July. Follow them on Instagram for more info.

Lolabelle - Limb

“I want to make other people feel things that maybe they didn’t know they‬‭ needed to let out,” shares Lolabelle’s Caroline Homer. After years of playing music together throughout the Northeast, the Maine-based indie rock band just dropped their debut single “Limb.” With its 90s alt-rock sound, the song explores missing someone so much, like a part of your own body.
