Fraternal Twin - Skin Gets Hot (reworked)
New York’s Fraternal Twin, the project led by Tom Christie, is expected to release new music later this year. In the meantime, they’ve shared a deluxe version of the 2015 album Skin Gets Hot. The 11-year anniversary edition includes the original album, a reworked version of “Skin Gets Hot” alongside cassette demos and more. Check out the video for “Skin Gets Hot (reworked)”.
Trophy Wife - Paragraph
Trophy Wife has unveiled the third single “Paragraph” from their upcoming album Pathetic. "I was spending a lot of time on listing out all the ways I wished I was or the ways I was failing at being them. “Paragraph” was my way of reflecting on how ridiculous it was," shares vocalist McKenzie Iazzetta. "’Paragraph’ is an unsuccessful attempt to romanticize your life and instead settle into the feeling of being what can only be described as ‘girlfailure.'” Catch Trophy Wife at New york’s Baby’s All Right on 7/24 for their album release party. Tickets are on sale now.
Wishy - Lovesick
On their new single “Lovesick,” Wishy puts it all out there. Taken from the newly announced album Nature’s Pill, vocalist Nina Pitchkites shares, “There’s not much more that needs to be said about yearning in 2026, but here it is anyway. Kevin and I are stupidly romantic people who like twee pop so that combination alone was a recipe for a cheeky “main character” song. We really leaned into the overzealous lyrics here because 1) we’re allowed, 2) can do whatever we want and 3) it’s fun :) yay!” In other words, Wishy gonna Wishy.
Buckets - Smokey
Los Angeles indie rockers Buckets have released their new album Horse to Water. The collection takes songs written over the last handful of years, according to the band. “Being able to pull from a wide net of songs was integral to the record, I think” they share. “It showcases not only the new era of Buckets and our hours of half-drunk writing sessions for the last year, but the consistency of our songwriting and chemistry as a group from our inception.” Out via Slouch Records, pick it up on CD or a 12” vinyl.
French FIlm - Rabbit Foot
We’ve covered Austin post-punk act French Film before. After signing to Solid Brass, the band will be releasing a compilation consisting of previous singles, an EP and 3 new songs including “Rabbit Foot.” The release will be available digitally and a Limited Edition Ruby Red Vinyl.
