5 Songs from The Faves
LA, London and New York bring us fresh tunes this week as we get new music from Ganser, Taleen Kali, Luna Shadows, Humane and LG Galleon.

Luna Shadows - gutspill
Sometimes you just gotta let things come out. “‘gutspill’ is a song about when you fear your feelings are about to fall out like confetti,” LA-based Luna Shadows says. “You can try to hold them in or push them down, but ultimately, it’s more fun to let them out. Do it just for the plot. It’s a crush you can’t confess, an overwhelming emotion you can’t shake. It’s an ode to saying what you mean, even if you have to turn it into poetry and put it in a song.” Check out the video and its nod to early 2000s pop punk aesthetics.
Taleen Kali - Viper
“'Viper' is written in the form of a palindrome, it has this cyclical format that isn’t like any of our previous songs," Taleen Kali shares. "I wanted to write a song about the fractured feminine, about what can happen when we try to break someone down over and over again and again. I remember seeing this nature video of a bright blue viper coiled and perched on top of a red rose, and the rose was holding up the entire weight of this thing–it wouldn’t bend or break. It was fascinating so it became the artwork for the single and informed a lot of the visuals of our music video.” The LA band’s next album AEPEX is out early 2027 on Dum Dum Records and is availalbe to preorder on Kickstarter.
Humane - Penny Let Go
East London’s Humane reaches for freedom on “Penny Let Go.” “The hook to this song came to me whilst driving to the studio, and we had written most of the song within the hour. It was quick so I wasn’t thinking about what it meant, but I enjoy the hook’s ambiguity,” shares band member Max. “It could be about money or a girl, but in my head it’s more of a statement about ego death and a surrender, an instruction to let go when you’re not sure what it is you’re holding onto."
Ganser - Futuretripping
Time is a social construct, the argument lays out. On “Futuretripping,” Chicago’s Ganser tries to steal a little bit from the future and bring it into the present. As bandmember Alicia Gaines explains, “Ahead of going on the road with Bikini Kill, I was interested in the concept of cheating time, where one could go for just a little more of it. After coming back from Europe earlier this year, we found our personal senses of time were distorted as we were dropped back into life in Chicago, mixing the mundane with the fantastical. Reaching into tomorrow for a little more of today became an inside joke, now ‘Futuretripping.’”
LG Galleon - Paralyzed
LG Galleon (Dead Leaf Echo, Clone) has returned with another single off his upcoming debut. “Paralyzed” is a slow burner, Galleon’s voice lights the match, but before you know it the whole world is on fire. Following up “Hello Mephisto,” Galleon’s album I Am Your Pity is shaping up nicely. The album is available for pre-order on a dark orchid vinyl via Bandcamp or directly from Lost In Ohio Records.
