5 Songs from The Faves

We’re back! This week we’ve got music from Seattle’s Biblioteka, emo folk project Dirt Buyer, darkwave/post-punk act Angel-Maker, indie rock artist Wormy and shoegazers Ringing.

We also got new tunes from Trembler, Cement Driver, Surfbort and RInging up on our playlist the faves.

Ringing - Incandescent

Brooklyn shoegazers Ringing have announced their debut album another cycle in the cosmic wash. On the first single, “Incandescent” they face difficulties head on. "This song is about admitting that you aren’t happy with the way you’re living your life," Colton explains. "It’s not an easy thing to confront, but it’s a necessary first step." The album is out 3/20 via Julia’s War Recordings and Signal//Noise Records.

Dirt Buyer - Bullshit Fuck

“It’s really angry,” shares Joe Sutkowski of Brooklyn-based project Dirt Buyer on their new song “Bullshit Fuck.” “It’s about feeling like a square peg. And dealing with trauma—it’s the angry part of processing feelings.” Their upcoming album Dirt Buyer III is out 2/6 via Bayonet Records.

Angel-Maker - Phase Relationship

Indianapolis post-punk/darkwave act Angel-Maker has released a double single and an accompanying video for the song “Phase Relationship”. The video features the trio as a jester, wizard and a knight. The two songs are available as a 7” lathe cut single and can be purchased on their Bandcamp.

Wormy - I Hate You

You ever see your friends and think “why isn’t that me?” Well, Brooklyn-based Wormy’s got your back. "'I Hate You' is about conflicting feelings of jealousy and love for your successful friends," Wormy, the solo project of Noah Rauchwerk, explains. "I wrote it in a patch when Nick (Medium Build) and I had grown apart and I missed him a lot and also wanted to be in his shoes. Nick and I made this music video as a nod to one of my favorite books and movies, Stephen King’s Misery. Everything you’re watching is completely true and actually happened!" Wormy’s got a record release show for his new album Shark River show on 1/31 at Brooklyn’s Union Pool.

Biblioteka - Firestarter

Seattle garage trio Biblioteka is dropping their new album Matryoshka on 2/12. Their latest single “Firestarter,” vocalist Mary Robins calls “an anthem for refusing to stay calm and complicit while the world is burning.” It’s a call to action during a time of apathy. Matryoshka will be released on orange opaque vinyl via Seattle record label Pet Wussy Records.
